Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

This was the view outside my door this afternoon...I didn't venture out into the snow at all...it was so frigid!!! Once I was in, I was in!!! The kids bundled up and went out to play. Christopher built a 10" snowman and wanted to bring it in so "it wouldn't melt"!! I cracked up and told him that it would definately melt if he brought it in...leave it outside! Christopher's school let out today at 1:00 and it wasn't snowing yet...so we went to Walmart to pick up some necessities...in the 10minutes from school to Walmart, it went from just cold and overcast to snow blowing sideways. We still went in, got our stuff, and when we came out, the parking lot was slushy and all of the cars and landscape was covered in snow. The snow came so fast! We are up to about 3" right now, with more to come.
We were scheduled to start a new RU chapter tonight at our new church here. We had our training session last night. But, with the weather, Wade and our pastor decided to cancel it and start next Friday. So.....I guess this will be our last Friday off for a while!
Enjoy your snow!!!
~ps~Kelly, this is what it looked like when I was on the phone with you!!!

Favorite Snapshots 2009, Part 3---Summer Edition

Christopher on Papa Jack's boat...we had a great day visiting with Papa Jack, Granny Jo, Carli & Cameron while they were camping at the lake.

Trip to Virginia to see family....all boys here too!!! Sorry Caroline :) She has a hard time finding girls to play with!
(Matthew, Ethan, Rupert, Christopher & Caroline)

Our Family Vacation to Hilton Head Island....a trip to remember!!!
We all went out for dinner together

Christopher spent lots of time on his bike and learned lots of cool tricks...we were all amazed..he is only 6!!

Daddy T spent lots of time on his bike too...he was so cute riding with the boys to the country store and just taking a ride by himself. I love this picture of him!! Not many people got to see him like this, but this is the Daddy T that we all knew and loved so much!!

Daddy & Caroline have a "moment" on the beach

The "biggest sandcastle ever"!!! This is what happens when you get a CPA out of the office for a week and put him with 7 & 8 year olds...good job Uncle Nate!!

The boys bringing in more water for the sand castle...Nathan is a delegator too :)

Back to School!!

Daddy T took the 3 big boys fishing in the pond....me, mom & Caroline tagged along too. This is such a good memory for the boys of a special day with Daddy T.

Mom made "Super Hero" capes for the boys....they had a blast!

The kids playing in the field at Memommy's & Daddy T's house....running & climbing on the hay bales.

And....My Favorite Pic of 2009....

This is Daddy T when he was repairing a fence the day that the kids were playing in the field. I love this picture!!! I think it was the last picture taken of him and it was about 2 weeks before he left this world to meet his Heavenly Father. He lived a full life up to his last moment, which we are so thankful for. This picture tells a lot about him to me....he was a hardworker and he had a certain way that he liked to do things. He is actually grinning in the picture, because I was "interviewing" him about fencing and thought that was too funny, he had a funny sense of humor. The DNJ had just been there that morning to interview him about his military service for the July 4th paper...so I was just posing as a DNJ reporter. We had lots of fun times like this together...just aggravating and laughing, and enjoying each other.
This concludes my Favorite Snapshots of 2009...I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did...this was a memorable year...one that I will never forget!!

Favorite Snapshots from 2009, Part 2

Fun Field Trips with Christopher's kindergarten class at FRCS. We went on lots of field trips..these are from Farm Day in Manchester and The Discovery Center in Murfreesboro.

Christopher's 6th Birthday!! We had so much fun...I picked up 5 boys from school and we headed to the bowling alley...Ethan & John met us there and they all had a blast!!! It was the easiest birthday party I have ever done...the only tense time was when we were getting the bowling shoes on and nobody could tie their own shoes :) But it was fun and good memories!!

Caroline & I surprised Christopher at school on his birthday with balloons and cupcakes.

Baseball Season at FRCS
Batter-up!!

Ready for Home

"Good Run, buddy...give me 5"

The Cheerleaders, Caroline & Sammie...these two were a pair this year. Sammie's big brother was in Christopher's kindergarten class...so they were along for the ride a lot and they enjoyed spending time together. So, at every ballgame, this was the site...Caroline and Sammie and their bag-chairs cheering on their big brothers!!

Kindergarten Play "Jonah, Go Tell!" and Graduation at FRCS

Christopher walking the aisle at K5 graduation...yes, I cried!! He looks 18!!! Ok, maybe a little short for 18, but it was a difficult moment for me ;)

Big Buddies: Josiah, Scottie, and Christopher...happy cause it's their last night as "kindergartners"...on to 1st grade!!

Mommy & Daddy are so proud of Christopher, he had a great year in Kindergarten.

Remembering back...we had the busiest April and May...between Easter, Field Trips, Weddings, Ballgames, Kindergarten Play & Graduation, plus life!!! Anyway, these were good times and good memories. It's always fun looking back and appreciating the good times.
Next up...Summer Fun!!

Favorite Snapshots from 2009, Part 1

A little "dress up" never hurt anyone...right?!? (Christopher will kill me for this one day), Feb 2009

Playing in the Snow, Feb 2009

Granny Lou chatting with her younger sister, Aunt Lorene, March 2009. We miss her so much and this picture means so much to me. Her sweet spirit was always ready for a visitor and to talk about current events and happenings in the family.

Christopher playing Super Heros with his best Friends, David & Josh. March 2009

Christopher is Spider Man, David is a Power Ranger, and Josh is Batman

Building a Snow Man with our Uncle Terry and our cousins, Benjamin & Tripp. March 2009

Easter at Aunt Rita's house with all of our cousins....lots of youngins', but great memories!! April, 2009

This year was full of memories...many that we will NEVER forget, because they were our last. This year we lost our Granny Lou in August. She was so precious to all of us in our own ways and in our own relationships. She loved for people to come by to visit her and if I ever had an extra 30 minutes in town...I would make a pit stop to see her. She lived a full 90 years...with 6 kids, 15 grandkids, and I think we are up to 22 great-grandkids. What a life!! We also lost our Daddy T (my stepdad, my friend, my mentor, a special grandpa) in July this year. It's hard to even talk about, but always enjoyed driving up in their driveway and seeing him out toodling around...doing something...recycling, mowing, shoveling gravel, moving the tractor, bringing in groceries, whatever the chore might be for that moment in time. He would always have something to say to aggravate or pick at you. But God is Good and He knew this was going to happen this year and he allowed us to make some great memories this year and many years before this. By going back through my pictures, it makes me thankful for the smiles, laughs, good times that were shared with our family this year. In spite of the heartbreaks that we have been through...God provides comfort in different ways, and today it's through remembering the good times in pictures.
More pics to come....

Our New Addition .... Cookie

We got a new puppy, and the kids have named her Cookie. I took her to get groomed today and I must say that she is a-dor-a-ble!!! Especially with that pink bow!!

And Caroline is in "Cookie Heaven"!! The only time the puppy gets a break is when Caroline is at preschool or asleep!! So, I'm not sure that it is Heaven for the puppy ;) Christopher enjoys playing with her too. He loves to run with her and get her to chase a ball.

She is a "Shichon"...which is a mix between a Bichon and a Shihtzu. She is about 4 lbs right now, and will top out around 10 lbs. She is hypoallergenic (which is good for me) and she doesn't shed (which is good for me too). She is a sweet little girl and doesn't seem to mind being handled a lot. She is doing pretty good potty training...but, you know, it is always an uphill battle and it just takes a while. So I am always on defense and ready with my Resolve and Febreeze!!
Here are a few more pics
