Happy Mother's Day

Caroline & I hitched a ride with a friend to Murfreesboro to spend the day with my Mom at the Mother Daughter Banquet at FRBC (it was also her birthday). I remember the day that I thought that I would never be a mother, but the Lord has allowed me to be the mother of two wonderful children....even though one of them refuses to smile in a picture...ever!!! (Pay no attention to the sour puss at the bottom of this picture). Anyway, I love them both very much and they are a true blessing from the Lord. I am also very thankful for the mother that God gave me...I think I am slowly moulting into her as we "speak". Happy Birthday Momma!!!!!

Katie, Abby & Me at the Mother Daughter Banquet

Caroline and her buddy Emma sat together at the Mother Daughter Banquet. They don't get to see each other the way the used to. So they LOVE to see each other and "catch up"!!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you, celebrate the children that God has given you!

Christopher gets 2nd Place!!!

I should've posted this a couple of months ago, but I got busy and just never did. In February, Christopher competed in the Pinewood Derby race with his cub scout troop and all others in the Ocoee district. He placed 2nd place in the Wolf, we were so proud and surprised!!! Here are some pictures from the day: Here is Christopher's "Military" inspired race car Christopher waited patiently...he was race car #72, so he had to wait a long while til his raced. Daddy & Caroline waiting & watching
All right....here we go!!!! Christopher's car is on the far left....
These are 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners for the Wolf category
We are so proud of our 2nd place winner!!!!
Christopher & Noah are good friends, they go to school together & are in scouts together.

It was a fun day! Christopher is really enjoying scouts and is learning lots of new things!

Spring Fever!!!

Well, we HAD spring fever for a week or two, now that has been dampened by rain & 50 degree weather...but that's okay. We got a couple of projects done, and will hopefully keep up the energy when we get back to the 70 degree Sunshine weather!!! Our first little project....I am so excited about our deck!! We got a new umbrella and some pillows. Once it gets a little warmer, we'll get the flowers and other lovely things out there to finish it. Another afternoon project....when we bought this house, the half bath had a "stained-glass" film on the window...which was fine. But not my favorite. Anyway, I have a long-term plan of putting a shutter on that window. It is further down on the "todem pole" of to-do lists around here. So I did a quick fix of removing the stained glass look and replacing it with a frosted glass. It is brighter & cleaner feeling. A good temporary fix for $18! Before: (picture is from when we bought the house) After: Still gotta finish accessorizing that room, but a step in the right direction!!! Anyway, still more projects to do...looking forward to a beautiful weekend of warm & sunny weather!! How 'bout you?? Any Spring Fever projects going on at your house?

Sick Again

Whelp, we are home again....Caroline has the flu for the 2nd time in a month! She had the B strand over New Years, and now has the A strand. She woke up with a fever on Sunday night and it has been running 102-3 very steadily. Her fever broke this morning, and I can tell that she is feeling much better. Hopefully, if today goes well, then she can return to school tomorrow. Then again...they are predicting 1-2" of snow tonight, so there probably won't BE any school tomorrow!! I am SO ready to get back to a normal life of no sickness, no snow, and ROUTINE!

Snow Day!!

Well, we woke up to 8" of snow on Monday morning. We went out to play in it and by the end of the day this is what Christopher & Caroline looked like...

LOL, Just kidding....although, we were very cold by the time we came in!! We have now been in the house for 2 days, and I think we will venture out tomorrow. Here are some more pics from the day:

And....a little snow cream!!!!

I think this is the first time my kids have had snow cream. My Aunt Peggy would always fix us snow cream on snow days and I remember her saying "you can't have snow cream on the first snow or if it only snows a little bit. You can only have it when we have a really good snow." Well, I guess this has been the first REALLY good snow of their lifetime. I remember loving snow cream, but they weren't too impressed. Maybe I don't know how to make it, or they have gotten spoiled to BlueBell Homemade Vanilla Icecream?!?

Christmas Pics coming....sorry, I've been in a blogging slump!

Gettin' Ready for Christmas

We had a fun Thanksgiving weekend....we spent Thanksgiving day at Wade's mom's house, and ended the day with setting up and decorating her Christmas tree. The kids love it because she lets them do the whole thing by themselves!!

Then we headed to my mom's for the day on Friday. We just hung around, watched movies, and I got to hold my new niece, Janie Kate, for about 3 hours while Wade & the kids went to the M'boro RU meeting.
On Saturday, we had our Annual Summar Family Thanksgiving & Christmas festivities. Here's a picture of all the kids and their "leader"...Uncle Cameron!!
We have not gotten out our Christmas decorations yet....Christopher is ready, but we haven't talked Daddy into getting the tree down yet. Hopefully soon!!

My Little Cub Scout

Christopher earned his first couple of badges at Cub Scouts a couple of weeks ago. He was so excited and we were very proud! He's so handsome in his uniform!
